This SXSW was totally insane. I attended as many SXStyle panels and Interactive parties as I could, hosted my first ever event during SX for my new shop Once Bitten (thank you to Tito's Vodka and Gus's Fried Chicken for sponsoring!!), spent some time taking street style photos for Reissued, and also played host to one of my best friends who came into town all the way from China to visit. Fashion is one of those things that can sometimes be taken way too seriously, especially at an event like New York Fashion Week where people are walking around wearing clothes that might cost more than your first car. But when a grown woman walks down the street wearing head to toe Spongebob Squarepants, you are reminded that fashion is supposed to be fun. After snapping street style photos at New York Fashion Week this past week, it was clear to me that fashion is definitely going through a fun phase.  Gone are the days of standing around looking morose while secretly praying for a street style photographer to snap your photo.  Of course there are still those who peacock around hoping to get their photo taken, but for the most part they're doing so now with a smile or even a wink. Major trends at this year's New York Fashion Week included sneakers, off the shoulder button down tops, fringe,  bold and funky clutches, and cartoon prints.  This year the style on the streets was all about playful looks, but these fun looks were still polished and sophisticated.  After all, the Spongeboob Squarepants outfit was still Moschino.
