It was night #2 of the Austin Fashion Week runways, and while Thursday night certainly had some of the sexiest shows of the week, overall it had to be my least favorite night of the 3. I have to attribute my lack of enthusiasm for the majority of the shows this night due to the fact that it was mostly retail fashion shows. When I go to Austin Fashion Week, I’d rather see designers instead of a designer collection “presented by” a boutique. Local lingerie designer Megan Summerville was hands down the highlight of the night by showing her beautiful and unique lingerie. You can read my full review and see all the photos from Megan’s show here.

The other two designers who showed alongside Megan, KHG by Krystle Holnes and Sheaffa, both failed to impress me. However, one was scarily more disappointing than the other. KHG was a completely disjointed collection that didn’t have any sort of cohesion whatsoever. What I found to be particularly baffling about this collection was the fabric choices. Holnes used everything from a southwestern tapestry print to multicolored tie dye, and I can’t seem to wrap my head around why. It might have been the most confusing fashion show of all of Austin Fashion Week, and I’m writing this after just having witnessed a fashion show in which there was a fire eater.

Unlike KHG, Sheaffa at least made sense as a collection as there was a consistent color scheme and vibe. However, some pieces looked a lot richer than others. My favorites from this collection were the all-white suit and the green romper. The collection as a whole was unfortunately not terribly unique or memorable.
