Last night I hung out with a couple of boys who were visiting Austin from NYC.  This interaction with northerners (or as I like to refer to them, “furrners” (a.k.a. foreigners)) led to some discussion of the word “y’all,” a word that is strictly and heavily used here in the south.  I’m a fan of the conjunction “y’all.”  It’s a cute little word that serves the function of simplifying our speech.  Who wants to spend time saying “you guys?”  “Y’all” is shorter and easier to say, and in my personal born and raised Texan opinion, it also sounds better.

So, if you are thinking about visiting Austin this August for the Texas Style Council Conference, just be aware that we say “y’all” here in Texas.  Also please be aware that you will get to meet a lot of really cool, smart, interesting, and stylish gals.  This will be the 4th year for the Texas Style Council Conference, a conference that started out strictly as a fashion blogger conference but has now grown to offer much more.

Indiana Adams of Adored Austin (who is at the top of my list of nicest people in Austin), started a fashion blog several years ago and since then has had a few babies (2 to be precise) and her blog has evolved to be more of a lifestyle blog.  The Texas Style Council Conference, which Indiana started and runs, I think reflects a similar change having broadened its spectrum of people whom it benefits to include lifestyle bloggers, business owners, as well as independent designers.

The conference is a great way to meet and mingle with fun, smart women and you will hopefully walk away with some great info. on how to grow your business via social media, how to improve your own personal blog, or how to turn your blog into a business.  Those are all the types of topics that will be discussed!  Check out the list of stylish women who will be speaking at the conference (it includes the super talented designer Moorea Seal who re-designed my blog awhile back, plus several of my Austin friends.)

I will also be participating in the conference as the Street Style Photographer to document all your awesome outfits AND I will be co-hosting the Happy Hour on Friday with my lovely friend Priscilla Barroso of Crowned Bird.

Basically, this is a conference for all the most talented and beautiful women I know, love, and feel inspired by. Come join! I will see Y’ALL there!
