The first time I was introduced to local designer Priscilla Barroso’s designs I was immediately thrilled to see a young female clothing designer with a fun playful aesthetic. There honestly aren’t that many clothing designers to come out of Austin who produce wearable clothing, but Crowned Bird is exactly that. Strongly inspired by vintage looks from the decades between the 40’s through the 60’s, Crowned Bird is a line that is a cute throwback to the past, yet works with a modern wardrobe. It is absolutely no surprise to me that Priscilla was selected to be on NBC’s Fashion Star to gain national attention for her designs. This season of Fashion Star premieres Friday and to celebrate our local designer’s success, Charm School Vintage is hosting a viewing party for our lovely little bird.
