When I told Joanna that I was going to be working backstage with University Fashion Group at shows during NYFW this season, she immediately thought it would be a wonderful idea to capture street style from the Big Apple. Working shows such as Lela Rose, Timo Weiland and Project Runway, there was ample opportunity to snap photos of stylish folks from my trusty iPhone. Overall, I saw daring looks from the fashion crowd in New York City, and wish that I saw more of the same thing on the streets of Austin. Here are some of the looks that I was able to capture in my week of madness!
Kaidon Ho sporting all black with Ivan Bontchev, fashion editor and stylist of L’Officiel Hommes. Ivan’s fitted yellow suit brought a sense of European sophistication to the Lincoln Center Plaza. These two hit it off immediately.
The British version of Olivia Palermo arrived at the Lincoln Center in a printed yellow top and what appeared to be a pink leather pencil skirt. A bold contrast is seen with the clutch, but works wonderfully along with this soft, feminine look.
This woman wore a classic red floral print and accessorized with a chic black bag, chained sunglasses, and head wrap. She was quite the diva, too, asking if she could reapply her lipstick before her photo was taken.
This street style photographer duo from New York City captured the essence of Austin fashion with the fringed skirt and denim vest. Among a plethora of sophisticated, sleek looks, it was refreshing to see something more comfortable.
Clad in flared pants made of black lace, this woman added a pop of color with the kelly green blazer. She had heads turning left and right as she entered the Lincoln Center Plaza!
Fashion blogger Alexander Norheim wearing Acne sunglasses, metallic sweater, leather shorts, and shiny combat boots. This modern monochromatic was a stark contrast among everyone’s at one of the Harlem subway stations.
