You’ve probably heard this before and you may or may not believe it to be true, but, it takes more than just having a pretty face and great body to be a great model. Being someone who has had to take photos of myself for this blog, I fully understand the effort that goes into creating a good photo. There are a lot of questions you have to ask yourself while standing in front of the camera- does this pose look weird? Am I in the light? Am I showing off the clothes? Am I smiling too much? Am I smiling too little? Am I smizing?? A lot goes through your head, and it takes more than simply just being photogenic. Butterfly Entertainment founder and model herself, Brianna Fleet has put together a competition to find hidden talented women who have these skills that it takes to be a fashion model.
Hopeful girls will strut their stuff in a fashion show at 219 West this Sunday in front of a live audience competing for the title of Top Austin Model. Guest judges will choose 10 girls from this group of 15 semi-finalists to move on to the Finale Event in which one lucky girl will be named 2012’s Top Austin Model. Meanwhile, you can vote for your Fan Favorite! Go ahead and go here to vote for your favorite online, OR you can also buy tickets and vote in person at the Showcase Event this Sunday. Votes at the event are weighed more heavily than online votes, so if you’re really rooting for a friend to win, it might be worth the $10 to attend.
