The fashion show event at the Domain this past weekend was a lot of fun. I got to see several runway shows, have some free food and wine, and meet some cool people. Two people I met were Glenn Allen (left) and Jorge Rubalcava (right). Jorge is a wardrobe stylist from San Antonio and he helped style the shows on Saturday night. His friend Glenn is an aspiring fashion designer from Austin. And here is Jorge with Ali, a stylist out of LA who was working on the shows Friday night.

As far as the fashions go, I was a little underwhelmed. Taking into consideration that the Domain houses some of the more expensive stores to shop at in Austin, it seems like they could have come up with some better outfits. There were only a couple things that stood out in my mind, but I guess that’s better than nothing.

The cool thing about a fashion show like this is that everything you see here can be purchased right now in the stores, so if you like anything you see you can head over to the Domain and go get it right now.

Here is my review of the fashions:

Banana Republic
This was one of the looks that stood out for me.
I call this the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” look. I could see Brangelina kicking butt in these outfits.

Cole Han
I love how this look is sporty and casual but put together at the same time. And I really like the pop of color provided by the red shoes.

Lilly Pulitzer
“Even a gay guy wouldn’t wear those pants.” – my new friend Glenn

I thought most of the Lilly Pulitzer stuff was pretty unwearable. Their dresses look particularly unflattering. The little kids in the show looked cute though.

The Limited
I guess I could see myself rockin some of the Limited pieces if I had a job where I had to dress kind of nice and business like. They were alright.

Macy’s
I know oversized necklaces are in style right now, but this one is a little too Betty Rubble for me.

I like this look a lot. It’s got movement and color. It’s a happy summer outfit.

Martin + OsaThe Martin + Osa looks were pretty tame. Nothing bad, but nothing great.

Tommy Bahama
This is a really cool summer outfit for a laid back guy. I really like those shorts a lot. They have a vintage look to them.

This isn’t something I would probably wear, but the model especially looks great in this look. I could see JLo rockin it.

White House Black Market
Whoa, bedazzled jeans. My friends and I made some of these back in high school. I believe the year was 2000. Even then I only wore them once and decided they were a fashion don’t.

Bebe
I’ve never been a very big fan of Bebe. I think their stuff has the ability to look cheap easily, especially if you are dressed head to toe in it. I think if you took one of the pieces off the outfits they showed and worked them into your own wardrobe it could be cool though.

Betsey JohnsonThe guy sitting next to me obviously wasn’t a fan of this one.

Whoa! How did they get Paris Hilton to model at the Domain fashion show in Austin?? Nope, that’s not her. I think they stole this outfit from her though.

CacheI don’t think I would ever step foot in Cache. This dress was kinda nice because it was bright and colorful, but the fabric looked tacky in person.

GuessThe lingerie look is in right now, but I dunno if I will be sporting it.

Lucky Brand“This is not fashion.” -the guy next to me
I wasn’t particularly excited about any of the looks from Lucky Brand either.

Metro ParkThe Metro Park looks were very L.A. to me. I like the girl’s hat a lot, in fact, I might have to go check it out in the store.

ShasaI was very unfamiliar with this store, but I was not blown away by anything I saw.

St.ThomasSt. Thomas definitely had some of the more “out there” looks of the bunch. Check out those leggings.

No, the model isn’t going through a car wash. That’s her jacket.

Forever 21
I’m a fan of Forever 21. The one in the Domain is huge and consists of both guys and girls clothes. It’s trendy and very affordable. I wouldn’t suggest dressing head to toe in a Forever outfit, like this Minnie Mouse one, but if you mix a Forever piece with a more expensive piece you can create a great look for less.

I also really enjoyed how they incorporated the kids in this show. The Forever 21 show was my favorite of the bunch.
